Training for a 5k?

Need some guidance and advice for your 5k training plan? Well, you've come to the right place! Find some useful links below:

  • No, the entry fee only covers our set-up costs. We are only able to continue offering our free care due to sponsorship money and donations received from events like the Santa Fun Run. If you prefer this method of supporting us, you can donate at the point of registration instead of asking for sponsorship.

  • Bushy Park is one of London’s eight Royal Parks and covers an area of 1,099 acres, the second largest of the capital’s eight Royal Parks. It is famed for its mix of waterways, gardens and grassland, and roaming herds of red and fallow deer.

The meeting point at Bushy Park is next to the Diana (Arethusa) Fountain car park, nearest to the Hampton Court Gate. Look out for the pink gazebos. If driving please note the Diana Fountain car park can only be accessed from the Hampton Court end. If you arrive from the Teddington gate you will need to park in the Pheasantry car park and walk to the Diana Fountain car park. We will then all walk over to the start point together.

    Coming by car

For Bushy Park the nearest car park is the Diana (Arethusa) Fountain car park, nearest to the Hampton Court Gate. It is a public car park, so is likely to be very busy on the day. There are other car parks within Bushy Park – please visit www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/bushy-park for more information and maps. However, if you are able to car share or take public transport, please do so.

    By train

For Bushy Park from Waterloo to Teddington/Hampton Wick/Hampton Court – 5 to 10-minute walk, entering the park through the Sandy Lane Gates.

    By bus

    Check for your bus

  • Please arrive at 9:30am for both events for a 10am start,  giving you plenty of time to register at one of our desks and collect your Santa suits, if requested.

  • Please arrive by 9:30am for a 10am start and register at one of the desks.

We will call you over for a warm up with a loud hailer just before the run begins. Once the warm up is complete, please assemble near the start line, any runners should start at the front, followed by joggers in the middle and then strollers at the back.

  • When you registered for our Santa Fun Run online, you will have chosen whether to wear one of our Santa suits or to dress in your own festive fancy dress.

If you’ve chosen our Santa suit, we will provide it on the day. To protect your modesty – as well as protect yourself from the cold – please wear suitable running clothes under your Santa suit! Remember to wear suitable footwear too.

If you’ve chosen your own festive fancy dress, do remember to wear suitable footwear and arrive in your chosen outfit ready to run/jog/walk.

Please note that, unfortunately, there are no lockers/storage facilities available to leave things at the start, so please do not bring any valuables with you on the day.

  • Many people choose to support Princess Alice Hospice in memory of someone they love and in recognition of the high-quality compassionate care we provide.

By taking part in our Santa Fun Run in memory of a loved one, you’ll be commemorating their life and supporting your local hospice, to help other families in need of our specialist care and support.

On the day of the event, we’ll provide in memory bibs that you can add to your Santa suit, to remember that special person whilst taking part.

  • The toilets are next to the playground by Hampton Court Gate for a 20p charge, contactless payment option available.

We rely on the generous efforts of our supporters to ensure we can care for those who need it at the hardest of times, no less at Christmas.

Caring this Christmas

By joining our Santa Fun Run you'll be helping us provide care this Christmas.

Your fundraising or donation could help sponsor a nurse to visit a patient in their home, making sure the family can focus on making the most of the special time with their loved ones.

Raised so far (in fundraising and donations)

What we have raised so far doesn’t include ticket sales (this cost only covers our set up costs) which is why your donation or fundraising is so important to us. This is a collective effort of all our Santa Fun Runners and every little bit all adds up to help reach our target!

Thanks for your support.
